Our little peanut is one-year-old today! Ask anyone close to me and they'll tell you how completely head-over-heels in love I am with our sweet girls. Especially right now, when babyhood and toddlerhood is fleeting.
Being the happy baby that she is, it only seemed appropriate to celebrate Juliet's first birthday with a rainbow theme. We had a small family gathering last Sunday with a homemade lunch, cake and presents. Sharing some highlights:
Rainbow fruit platter courtesy of Grammy. Pinterest has a great array of rainbow fruit and veggie platter ideas!
Ina Garten's Chicken Salad Veronique, served on fresh raisin-cinnamon bread
Peanut butter and jelly heart sandwiches, naturally.
Cucumber finger sandwiches with a lemon-caper-dill cream cheese, found here.
The birthday girl, in all her regalia.
Homemade funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream, courtesy of Sally's Baking Addiction, to round-out the rainbow theme. One and a third cup of sprinkles went into this -- no messing around!
I love the variety of chalkboard printables available on Etsy. Purchase, send your details, approve the proof, send the file to Staples, and wa-lah! A beautiful personal touch.
Cousin Lukie joins the celebration from across the Atlantic via Facetime.

The loveliest little dishwasher.
Now, Juliet, if only I could get caught up on your baby book... and the rest of my life! Let's shelve that till another day and just enjoy today.
